![]() Meet Krystal Berger What do you love about aerial? I love that it challenges my body and my brain. And I get hang out upside-down and flip around!! It's like gymnastics for grown-ups :) What keeps you coming back? Um, it's super fun. And challenging. And therapy. And this sounds cheesy, but I love how supportive the community is. My classmates are excited for me when I nail a move and vice versa. It's not about competition or out-doing anyone, it's about encouragement and support. And that is really cool. What were your thoughts during/after your first class? ![]() PINCHY. :/ And when can I do this again! (And I need a nap; that was exhausting.) Any accomplishments that you want to share? I'm not sure if i have any really specific accomplishments to share. I love how something that's really hard becomes a little bit easier when we revisit it. There aren't a lot of sports where you can see improvement that quickly. My unsupported invert has come a long way in the last two months. I've had to work really hard for it. It still has a long way to go, but I'm a pretty proud of the progress I've made so far! What do you say to your friends when they ask you about this crazy aerial thing you do? I show them my bruises and videos, and I try to drag them to class with me. Most of them are supportive and think it's cool. My mom would like my sister and I to talk about other subjects once in a while in her presence. She's supportive, but aerial might be all she hears about anymore. :) What do you do when your not hanging upside down in class? I work at Meredith Corporation in web production. I play a lot of volleyball, watch too much hockey, (graphic) design stuff on my computer, play in a bell choir at my church, and bother my friends and family whenever I can! Anything else you would like to share? Pictures of my bruises! |
